Blocks, Bottles, and Big Trips Ahead
A week of daycare wins, dad humor meltdowns, and one very big countdown.
This past week was a big win for Jasper at school. The kid is learning and growing so fast that my partner and I have basically turned into full-time hype squad. Every new word, new move, new “hey-look-what-I-can-do” moment turns into a whole celebration in our house. I swear, he stacks two blocks and we act like he got accepted into Harvard.
Work, meanwhile… let’s call it aggressively busy. Even though I swore I wasn’t traveling without my in-laws here to help, guess who’s somehow heading to Minnesota this week? Yep. Me. It’s a short trip, but still—nothing like a little corporate chaos to keep the blood pressure spicy.
Sunday was temple day, and honestly, it went smoother than I expected. This was Jasper’s second trip to temple since the in-laws left, and the kid showed up like he’s been attending for years. Calm, curious, no meltdowns—just full “I’ve got this, Dad” energy. Meanwhile I’m over here trying to remember where to leave my shoes, how to keep the routine straight, and not be the one causing a scene. Jasper is officially running the show.
With the in-laws back in India, we’ve finally figured out our timing enough to leave early and keep Jasper’s sleep schedule intact. Small victories matter. Especially the sleep schedule ones.
And now the countdown is officially on: Jasper’s biggest trip ever. One of the main reasons I didn’t want to stack work travel right now is because on December 4, 2025, our little guy takes off on the biggest adventure of his life.
Where are we going?
Take your guesses now… because this one is going to be fun.
