This week has been the biggest one yet with our little guy. First, we got to celebrate his 2-month birthday. What a joy to realize that just two months ago, we welcomed our little bundle of joy into our lives.

We also had a significant appointment for him this week. As he turned 2 months old, he began receiving his vaccinations to protect him. I knew he was tough, and although there were a few tears, a little love from Mom quickly dried them up.

Thankfully, he didn’t experience many side effects from the vaccinations. Our doctor recommended some children’s Tylenol, and he did have a very mild fever the day after. However, a few naps and cuddles took care of that quickly.

This week also marked my first week back at work. Adjusting to my 9-5 job while caring for my son has been a change. Fortunately, as a remote employee, I get some time during the day on my breaks to give him a few kisses, which helps me push through my day.

Reading for the week:

This week’s book is one I have been eager to read since I first heard about it. Having taken the course, this book further piqued my interest in the concept of entrepreneurship. This week’s book is “Million Dollar Weekend: The Surprisingly Simple Way to Launch a 7-Figure Business in 48 Hours” by Noah Kagan.

My followers and connections on LinkedIn (you can connect with me here) know that a few weeks back, I took Noah Kagan’s course on launching a 7-figure business in 48 hours. My interest in entrepreneurship was sparked while working with companies during their funding rounds and IPOs. Over the years, I’ve started various ventures but often stopped short of diving in completely. Followers of this newsletter or my other works may have noticed this pattern. I fit what Noah would call a “wantrepreneur.”

However, this book seems to have changed my perspective. Last week, I put some projects to rest to focus on endeavors that interest me more. I needed to clear the deck to make time for a deep dive.

With a child, sacrificing 52 weekends a year is a significant commitment. I understand that, but I also have evening hours after he goes to bed. I found the person I want to have as my connection and got his buy-in to keep me accountable. I’m excited to explore this journey further and share it with the followers and readers of this website and newsletter.

If you can’t tell, I’m excited about this journey and hope you’ll join me for the ride. I’d love to hear about your own entrepreneurship journey and what you’re looking for, either through this newsletter or in your own ventures.

Bonus for you:

As we start trying to eliminate some of our late-night feeds by scheduling the baby’s day, we’ve found some valuable research about putting the baby down drowsy but not fully asleep. This method can help teach the baby to soothe themselves and allows for a better schedule for the parents. The website below discusses this concept further, and it’s something my partner and I have been trying to implement.

Is this something you would try as a parent, even if you don’t have kids already? What are your thoughts?

As always, every baby and situation is unique so, consult your child’s pediatrician.

Question of the Week:

This week's question is about goals. With my personal entrepreneurship aspirations and the goals I have for raising my child, I'm curious to hear about your goals this year. What are you striving to achieve? Do you have specific reading goals? Let's start a conversation and encourage each other to reach our ambitions.
