Week 29 was a rollercoaster, filled with both joy and sadness. The week kicked off with my baby mama’s birthday, and I couldn’t be prouder of all she’s accomplished. She works so hard behind the scenes, and I’m lucky to be her cheerleader. For her special day, she wanted to visit a farm for some fall fun, so we headed to Mapleside Farms. They put on a big fall event, and it was a blast to see our little guy’s face light up, especially during the pig races. I can only imagine how much more fun it’ll be next year when he’s a bit older.

On the sad side, a good friend’s mother passed away from Huntington’s disease, and the funeral was on Saturday. Losing someone who was like a mother figure is tough, especially to such a devastating illness. Every moment I spent with her was special, and I’m grateful that the last time I saw her was to celebrate the arrival of my son.

We also managed to sneak in a dinner date at Red in downtown Cleveland, which was a nice break. The food was great, and it felt good to get away with just my partner for a little while. Lately, we’ve been dealing with some external tensions from people outside the home, which has caused some stress inside our house. It’s been a difficult experience, but we’re hoping things smooth out soon so we can move forward.

The week wrapped up on a high note with some exciting news—I accepted a new job and promotion at my organization. Being able to share that with my partner as a birthday surprise was the perfect way to end the week.
