This week was another reminder that life with a growing little boy is never boring.
The week started with the usual rhythm: school, work, dinners, and trying to keep up with Jasper’s seemingly endless supply of energy. Summer may be winding down, but he certainly isn’t slowing down.
Every day he seems a little more independent, a little more opinionated, and a lot more curious about the world around him.
One of the highlights came Friday when Jasper and I went to pick out flowers for Mom ahead of our anniversary.
I thought I was taking my two-year-old to help me pick out flowers.
Apparently, I was taking my two-year-old flower consultant.
White flowers? Absolutely not.
Jasper had opinions.
Strong ones.
And honestly, watching him get involved made the whole thing better. He’s at that age where he’s not just tagging along anymore. He wants to participate. He wants to make choices. He wants to help.
It’s amazing how quickly that little personality is coming through.
The weekend brought more family time, with visits to relatives and plenty of opportunities for Jasper to run, play, explore, and keep everyone entertained.
We also made our way back to the Gurudwara.
Those visits have become an important part of our rhythm. Life can get incredibly busy between work, daycare, family, and everything else that comes with raising a toddler. Having a place to slow down, reflect, and be grateful is something I don’t want to take for granted.
And then there was Jasper.
Running.
Playing.
Exploring.
Repeating himself approximately 47 times.
And somehow still finding more energy.
Dad was definitely feeling it by the end of the weekend.
But I wouldn’t trade it.
Because these are the days I know I’ll eventually miss.
The running around.
The little opinions.
The constant questions.
The moments where he wants to help with everything.
Even the exhaustion.
And now we’re heading into another exciting chapter.
Nani and Nanu are getting ready to arrive from India.
That means Jasper is about to have even more people around who love him, want to spend time with him, and are probably going to spoil him just a little bit.
Okay…maybe a lot.
And I’m excited to watch that relationship continue to grow.
Looking back, this wasn’t a week defined by one huge event.
It was flowers.
Family.
Faith.
Running around.
A busy little boy.
And a whole lot to be grateful for.
Maybe that’s what makes these weeks so special.
They’re not extraordinary because something incredible happened.
They’re extraordinary because we got to experience them together.
❤️💐🏡🇮🇳
