Some weeks are full of big adventures, while others are about keeping up with the routine and enjoying the little things. This past week had a bit of both.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday were pretty standard around our house. Jasper headed off to school, Mom and Dad went to work, and we kept things moving along. The usual routine might not always be exciting, but with a toddler in the house, there’s something to be said for a few predictable days!
Thursday brought a little something extra. After work and school, it was time for Dad and Jasper to get back in the pool. Swimming has become one of those activities we look forward to together. It’s great seeing him continue to get more comfortable in the water, and it’s another opportunity for us to spend some one-on-one time together.
Friday was an early day, and for a very good reason: Halloween celebrations! We got to enjoy a Halloween parade before making a trip to the Indian grocery stores. A little Halloween spirit mixed with a little family shopping made for a fun change of pace from the normal Friday routine.
Then came Saturday, the day Jasper had really been looking forward to: trick-or-treating!
There is something special about seeing Halloween through the eyes of a young child. The excitement, the costumes, the decorations, and, of course, the candy all make it feel like a big event. Jasper was so excited, and seeing him enjoy the experience was easily one of the highlights of the week. These are the kinds of childhood memories that make all the planning and running around worthwhile.
After a busy week and a fun-filled Saturday, Sunday was a chance to slow things down. We made our way back to the Gurudwara, giving us some time to relax, reconnect, and enjoy a little peace before the week ahead.
And that brings us to the end of another week in the books.
Between work, school, swimming, Halloween festivities, grocery trips, and family time, we managed to fit quite a bit into seven days. But Sunday was a reminder that sometimes it’s just as important to slow down as it is to keep moving.
We’ve got a big week ahead, so we’ll take that little bit of rest where we can get it.
Until next week, here’s to making memories, enjoying the little traditions, and keeping up with life one day at a time.
