The current sleeping struggle has continued even after an evening bath. Despite our efforts, the baby’s sleep and nap patterns have been disrupted. Initially, we had great success with longer sleep periods, but travel and new experiences with the baby broke our routine. This change has thrown us a curveball, but we would surely do it again. It’s another step in raising our baby boy.
Another challenge for me has been working from home with a baby. I am blessed to be able to stay home with my wife so neither of us misses the day-to-day moments with our little man. Although some trips will happen, we are present for most of his daily activities. We are also fortunate to have her parents here to help, reducing our need for daycare. However, this setup presents a unique challenge for us: resisting the urge to stop working and play with the baby. It’s amazing how much control one little bean has over your emotions. I’ve heard others talk about it, but you really don’t understand until you experience it yourself.
One reminder we keep telling ourselves during these sleeping and entertainment cycles is to not forget the checklist during tough nights or sleep times. Raising babies is tough, and light sleep doesn’t help anyone. My best recommendation is to establish your checklist and stick to it. Following it step by step will help manage your emotions when they run high.
Lastly, I received the article below recently discussing swimming lessons for children and when to start. This is something I was already considering, but it’s nice to have some context, so I wanted to share it:
