This week marked the transition from week 16 into 17 on Thursday, which brought about numerous schedule adjustments. I’ve included an article that was instrumental in my research on why our little guy isn’t sleeping well. It turns out that sleep regression, while not covered in birthing classes, is quite common but challenging to manage. Our baby is not only learning new skills like rolling and head movements but is also becoming more aware of his surroundings, which overstimulates him. The downside is that he isn’t sleeping well, putting extra pressure on the entire household as we guide him through this phase and strive to maintain the good habits we’ve established.

Also, this past week, in addition to dealing with sleep regression, we also faced the challenges of Independence Day here in the US. The holiday made things even tougher as our little guy struggled with overstimulation from the car ride, family visits, and the fireworks that set our dog barking. It took us two days to help him settle down and finally get a good night’s rest. We’re anxiously awaiting the return to normalcy for our bundle of joy!
