New Year, New Milestones
Kicking Off 2025 with Jasper’s First Full Week and Big Steps in Learning
2025 has already proven to be eventful in my town. On Friday, I found myself driving through a snowstorm caused by multiple bomb cyclones—one moment, I couldn’t see ten feet in front of me, and the next, I was cruising at 70 mph (the speed limit). Snow has been falling almost daily since the year began, and we’re already breaking records for this decade. It reminds me of the snowier winters from my childhood, though it feels less common now.
Meanwhile, Jasper has been busy learning indoor skills. Before mastering walking, he’s figured out how to turn on the TV. We’re pretty sure he was searching for Ms. Rachel!
On a less fun note, my partner and mother-in-law were sick over the weekend—probably thanks to me sharing my recent bug. Thankfully, everyone is back to 100%, and Jasper managed to avoid getting sick altogether.
As for my 2025 goals, I’ve hit my daily 30-minute activity target every single day so far. While I’m definitely feeling the soreness, I’m also feeling proud of my progress. I’ve been tracking all my workouts in a notebook on my phone, and I’m committed to continuing the grind—never skipping leg day, of course! Here’s to keeping the momentum going.
