The Countdown Begins
Minneapolis, Miles, and the Final Countdown
This past week, if you tuned into The Dad Diary, you probably saw me surviving… I mean thriving… on a work trip to Minneapolis. The timing? Absolutely terrible. Between Thanksgiving in the U.S., prepping for our biggest family trip ever, and Jasper finally catching his groove at daycare — a work trip wasn’t exactly ideal.
But hey, there was a bright spot:
I got to shoot around on the actual floor of the Target Center — home of the Minnesota Timberwolves. I didn’t get drafted (their loss), but I did take some shots that definitely made the rim and me question my life choices.
The whole trip was packed with learning, airport wandering, and hotel coffee that tasted like ambition and regret. Still, the moment I woke Jasper up Thursday morning… elite dad moment. He smiled like I’d been gone for months. That’s the stuff right there.
Bonus travel luck: one of my coworkers ended up on my flight home. It’s always nice to not eat dinner alone on the road while pretending to enjoy the silence. Great conversations, but nothing beats seeing my partner and baby Thursday morning.
Despite all the travel chaos, my 90-Day Hard is still rolling. My goal was to drop under 170 lbs… and I finally hit it! Mentally better, physically better, and spiritually… well, let’s say I’m still recovering from my post-travel workout.
Now comes the big part:
The Final Countdown Is ON.
Just one week from this Thursday, we take off for Jasper’s biggest, boldest, most exciting trip ever.
A whole new country.
A whole new adventure.
And one dad who’s definitely packing snacks like we’re crossing the Atlantic (hint).
Have you guessed where we’re going yet?

The reveal drops next week.
