Ready or not, he’s here! During week 39, our baby boy has finally made his grand entrance. My partner bravely endured 28 hours of labor, three different epidural tries, and an emergency c-section, but our little miracle surprised us all and arrived healthy. We are overjoyed and immensely grateful.

I’m eagerly looking forward to the journey ahead as I transition from being a partner of a pregnant person to becoming a father of a beautiful son. I’m incredibly proud of my partner, who has shown immense strength throughout this journey. I can’t wait to share more about our adventures together.

The Dad Diary is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

Reading for the week:

This week's featured book holds special significance, as it's a title many guests at our baby shower deemed essential. Notably, the only book that graced our collection in multiples was 'The Going To Bed Book' by Sandra Boynton (Author, Illustrator).

Exploring 'The Going To Bed Book' introduced me to both a new book and a new author, Sandra Boynton. While it's undoubtedly a children's book, the choice to depict characters engaging in a workout just before bedtime adds a unique twist. It's a bit unconventional, yet I appreciate the underlying encouragement for activity woven into the narrative.

The artwork and writing in 'The Going To Bed Book' are exceptionally well-crafted, even with the unconventional lack of winding down. I highly recommend this read—it's delightfully cute for both adults and children alike. Just maybe skip the workout right before bed!

Bonus for you:

This week’s bonus offers a tantalizing glimpse into what lies ahead. As I write for Week 39, we’ve reached the culmination of the pregnancy journey, which ended successfully with the arrival of our baby. I extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has seen and read this. The next time I write, it will be with a newborn in tow. Your support online means the world to me, and I hope you find inspiration in my work. The next chapter brings a different perspective, not from pregnancy, but with my little one by my side.

Question of the Week:

What are you looking forward to in the 2nd quarter of the year? Any big trips? What are your goals? Let me know in the comments or reach out to me online at my Instagram or LinkedIn.
