Week 7 turned out to be one of the most eventful weeks so far with our little one, full of firsts and new challenges.
We discovered significant issues with dryness and a stuffy nose for our baby in our master bedroom. Part of this stemmed from indigestion, but another part was related to the room itself. We live in a 3-bedroom colonial home in Ohio, built in the 1970s, and the master bedroom spans the width of the house, which has created airflow problems. As mature adults, we hadn't noticed these issues until the baby arrived. Combined with our dog sleeping in the room, it became an allergen nightmare.
To address this, we decided to move the baby across the hall to a different room, just steps away. While not ideal, as most research suggests keeping the baby in the same room for 4 to 12 months, it was necessary for the baby's health and sleep quality. Thanks to modern technology, we could easily monitor the baby from our room, and he slept much more soundly.
This week also included our first road trip with the baby, who experienced his first night in a hotel. We traveled to Chicago to pick up my partner's parents, who will be staying with us to help during the first years. Though taking the bassinet was a bit of a hassle, the baby slept well in the hotel.
Lastly, we started to notice significant growth in our baby, a sign of healthy development. While this brought comfort, it also led to some sleepless nights for my partner and me as we adjusted to his changing needs. Nonetheless, we're grateful to see our baby thriving and look forward to the journey ahead.
Reading for the week:
This week's book from our children's collection is 'Are You My Mother?' by P.D. Eastman.

Mothers play a crucial role in their children's lives, making this book particularly meaningful. From birth, a mother's presence is a lifeline in a child's development. 'Are You My Mother?' beautifully illustrates the irreplaceable bond between a mother and her child, highlighting the deep connection that only they can share.
Bonus for you:
As our little one grows, addressing gas and bloating becomes increasingly important. One tool my partner and I have found helpful is incorporating gripe water into our routine, alongside burping, to help settle the stomach and aid digestion. We appreciate that gripe water is natural, which gives us peace of mind when using it for our child. The article linked below provides more information on its use.

Always consult a doctor before using any product, as every person and child is unique. What works well for one child may not be safe for another.
Question of the Week:
What methods are you using to address your child's digestive issues? Do you have any tips or secrets to share? If you don't have children, how do you manage digestive issues in yourself?
