This Week in the Dad Diary
Zoo Days, Sniffles, and Big Cat Sightings
This week was full of energy, laughter, and just a touch of sniffles. Jasper had a great time bouncing between school and some quality time with his Indian grandparents. Despite catching a bit of a cold, he hasn’t slowed down one bit. He's still zipping around with that signature curiosity and joy.
Saturday brought us back to the zoo, this time for Great Aunt Lori’s birthday celebration. Unlike last week’s hot visit, the weather was perfect and so was the timing. We saw the zoo’s newest addition: a female lion who was just introduced to the pride. The lions were out and social, and it was an unexpected highlight to witness them meeting each other. Jasper, of course, was more interested in the nearby elephants.
The weekend wrapped up with a peaceful nap at the temple and some lively playtime with friends. Jasper enjoyed being out and about this week, and honestly, so did I. While I was on dog-sitting duty for my parents, it was a gift to get some one-on-one fun with Jasper amidst the usual routine. It’s these small moments, whether at the zoo, the temple, or just chasing each other around the living room—that make the week feel full.
How did your week go? Any small moments that turned into big memories?
