Happy Holidays to Everyone!

This is the season to spread joy and excitement, no matter your beliefs, as we all prepare for the restart that a new year brings.

This past week has been a whirlwind as we’ve geared up for the Christmas holiday in our new home. Jasper’s mom and I have been hard at work cleaning and organizing the basement—essential prep for hosting on Christmas Day. It’s been a bit of a race against the clock, but the excitement of celebrating our first holiday in this house makes it all worth it.

We took a short break from the chaos to deliver cards to our old neighbors near our previous house. It was a bittersweet trip, filled with reminiscing about the memories we made there. But with so much change in the neighborhood, it’s also comforting to have this fresh start in a place that already feels like home.

On a sad note, my mom’s dog, Duncan, had surgery for a ruptured disc in his back. He’s been dealing with discomfort for a while now, and it finally gave out. While it’s thrown a wrench into some plans, we’re holding onto hope for his healing so that he can run and play with our dog, Link, again soon.

One of the best parts of our new home is how close we are to my parents now. It’s a blessing to have a short commute to celebrate Christmas Eve with them tomorrow, and then for them to make the quick trip to us on Christmas Day. Family time feels so much sweeter when the journey to get there is short and stress-free.

As for Jasper’s first Christmas Eve, it starts with mom and dad working. While we were lucky to spend extra time with him earlier this year after he was born, now it’s time to give a few hours back. Even with work, we’re ready to soak in every moment of this special holiday with our little guy.

Wishing everyone a season full of joy, love, and meaningful memories. Here’s to a wonderful holiday and a bright year ahead!
