3 Weeks of Navigating Parenthood Amidst Mountainous Moments
Nurturing Our Newborn Joy and Surprising Discoveries
This week marked a significant milestone in our journey with our newborn. We were fortunate to have newborn photos taken of our little one, capturing precious moments we’ll cherish forever. Additionally, we hosted family gatherings to celebrate the Easter holiday, which proved to be an exciting yet exhausting time for our baby. The influx of visitors and changes in routine led to an early bedtime for our little one, resulting in a less than restful night for both my partner and me. However, despite the challenges, we wouldn’t trade these experiences for anything.
Next week, we'll be celebrating our little one's one-month milestone, and I'm eagerly anticipating the joy and memories that await us.
Reading for the week:
This week, my reading took a different turn from the children's books and parenting guides I've been immersed in recently. Delving back into the realm of business, I explored a recommendation from Leila Hormozi's YouTube channel: "The Motive: Why So Many Leaders Abdicate Their Most Important Responsibilities" by Patrick M. Lencioni.
This book offers a unique approach as it's a work of fiction, a departure from the non-fiction titles I've discussed previously. Through this fictional narrative, the author constructs a highly realistic portrayal of CEO management styles that many managers and employees can likely relate to. While the scenario may not align with typical company policies, the insights into effective leadership are invaluable regardless of career stage. Despite its brevity, "The Motive" is essential reading for aspiring leaders.
Bonus for you:
This week's bonus tip is a practical insight my partner and I discovered while welcoming our newborn home.
For those residing in colder climates, investing in a cozy sleep sack for the baby proved invaluable for us, especially considering the unexpected snowfall we experienced the day after returning from the hospital. However, with March temperatures fluctuating, we quickly realized that our little one became fussy a few days later due to overheating.
Our newfound advice for newborns in varying climates: opt for a wool sleep sack to keep them warm during colder nights, and switch to a swaddle when temperatures rise to ensure they stay comfortable.
Question of the Week:
What strategies are you employing to ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep? And if you’re without little ones, how do you prioritize your own rest and relaxation?
