When my partner was pregnant, we established some events to do after birth without our son. One of them was this past weekend, when we went to see Manchester City take on Chelsea at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. We certainly did not expect the emotions that being away from a child would bring after birth. The experience was eye-opening, and I can honestly say that, at least for the time being, I hope this is the last time we miss a night with him unless it’s work-required.

Despite the fun and excitement of the game, both of us found ourselves constantly thinking about our little one. It’s incredible how deeply connected you become to your child and how even a short time apart can tug at your heartstrings. The event was a reminder of the balance we need to maintain between nurturing our relationship as a couple and being present for our child.

On a brighter note, our son also had his 5-month check-up this weekend and is growing like crazy. His development is right on track, and he’s hitting all his milestones. We’re starting to focus more on diet management to ensure he continues to grow well but doesn’t gain weight too quickly. This involves monitoring his feeding patterns and growth cycles.

It’s been a whirlwind of emotions and learning experiences, and each day brings new challenges and joys. As parents, we are continuously adapting and striving to do what’s best for our son, while also finding ways to keep our relationship strong and balanced.
