This week marked an exhilarating milestone as the initial hints of Braxton-Hicks contractions made their debut. While these are typically nothing to fret over, their arrival, roughly a month before birth, serves as a gentle nudge that we're inching closer to the grand day. Following a weekend of revelry, this past week was dedicated to restoring order. Play areas materialized, and surplus boxes found their way to the curb, aligning perfectly with the countdown to our weekly appointments commencing in Week 35.

Reading for the week:

In our previous post during Week 30, we delved into the beautiful practice of reading and talking to our baby in the womb. You can read that post below:

30 and Thriving

Week 30 has been more of a reality check than one might hope for. I feel incredibly blessed this week as I've received the opportunity to join a new 9-5 role after my previous position ended at the close of 2023. This has filled me with excitement and renewed hope as I approach the arrival of the next generation.

Although the daily routine of reading has taken a back seat temporarily due to other essential preparations, we've remained committed to consistently communicating with our little one.

This week's spotlight falls on a cherished bedtime companion—'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle. A must-read on almost any night, its whimsical pages have become a staple in our routine, adding a touch of enchantment to our bonding moments with the baby.

One of my all-time childhood favorites, 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' holds a special place in my heart. The surreal joy of now reading it to our unborn child is beyond words. Every page carries a nostalgic whisper, creating a magical bridge between generations.

The joy doesn't stop there—reading to my partner, who didn't grow up with this classic in the States, brings a different kind of excitement. Witnessing her enthusiasm mirror the little one's kicks in the womb is a beautiful reminder that the magic of storytelling knows no boundaries. It's a symphony of shared excitement, weaving our family's narrative with each turn of the page.

This weeks bonus to you/feedback:

This week, I'm turning the spotlight on you! The great screen debate for kids is a topic that resonates in our globally connected society. In a world where screens are omnipresent, finding the right balance for our little ones is a challenge many of us face.

As an adult, I revel in the wonders of our connected world, but my childhood was shaped by the great outdoors. However, as I grew older, "hanging out" often meant cozying up at a friend's house in front of the TV.

I'm eager to hear your thoughts on screens for kids. Do you embrace the digital age for the little ones, or do you lean towards the nostalgia of outdoor play? Cast your vote in the poll or share your insights. Your opinion is invaluable, and I'm genuinely interested in the diverse perspectives within our community. Let's spark a conversation and learn from each other!

Your company in this newsletter adventure has been truly delightful! Thank you sincerely for journeying with me through these updates and exploring this vibrant environment. Anticipation is building, and I'm itching to pen down more tales as we inch closer to welcoming the next generation. Exciting chapters await, and I can't wait to weave them into words for you! See you next week!
